Is there anyway you can configure the system so that a customer with a login account to the shop can request an email when an item is back in stock?

If one has only a few products, then one the workaround might be to create a Group Letter (practically, a mailing list) for each of the products.

If that's not an option, for example, if the number of products is so high that that sort of an approach is not feasible, then, unfortunately, as of 04 April 2008, we do not have a solution to the problem.
