Customer also able to enter text when changing the settings for the product they are ordering.

I made a dropdown list so that my customer can choose if he/she wants to have the merchandise branded, this will put 10 euros on the price, but it would also be nice if the customer was able to enter the text they want branded onto the product before adding it to the basket, the only other way i figured i could get it to work is to have the user enter the text in the comments when filling in the order details, but that wouldn't look all that good in case the customer for example wants to order 5 rings with different engravings, it would be a messy thing to figure out which ring gets what engraving :)

You could add custom
You could add custom questions related to the order line so they'd see "Order line 1 text" etc but you'd have to explain it pretty carefully.

The user can always put
The user can always put whatever he wants in comments and you can read the comments in order details. As a suggestion you can also create new product item called - "Branded " and in product info tell the customers to put in comments what they want to be branded. It will also remove the need to tweak the price every time to +10 EUR.
I'll love to have this feature too
